Virgil Abloh’s “Figures of Speech” Exhibition Heading to Atlanta
The 20-year survey is devoted to the work of the multi-hyphenate.
Following a successful run at the MCA Chicago, Virgil Abloh’s “Figures of Speech” exhibition is now heading down to Atlanta this fall.
Abloh himself announced the news via his personal Instagram account, alongside a photo taken by famed photographer Juergen Teller, sharing his “Figures of Speech” exhibition will open up to the public at the High Museum of Art starting Tuesday, November 12.
The 20-year survey is devoted to the work of the multi-hyphenate, and will showcase designs from his numerous collaborators such as Nike, IKEA, and many more. The retrospective is divided into seven parts: “Early Work,” “Fashion,” “Music,” “Intermezzo,” “Black Gaze,” “Design,” and “The End” and will include various mediums such as video documentation of his landmark shows, music highlights alongside a spotlight on his furniture, design and graphic works.
According to High Museum of Art’s website, the exhibition will hold a special members-only preview a few days earlier from November 8-10. “Figures of Speech” will run until March 8, 2020 before traveling to the Institute of Contemporary Art located in Boston from July 1–October 12, 2020.
