Tyrrell Winston Examines Life & Death in "The World Is Filled" Exhibition in Tokyo

On view at Takashi Murakami’s Hidari Zingaro gallery.

Following his first-ever exhibition in Sweden, Tyrrell Winston now kicks off his inaugural exhibition in Japan at Takashi Murakami’s Tokyo-based Hidari Zingaro gallery. For the presentation entitled “The World is Filled,” Winston unveils a diverse selection of deflated basketball sculptures. The artist continues his practice of repurposing discarded sports paraphernalia to create dynamic works that explore themes of life and death.

One of the highlighted pieces includes the artist’s sprawling ‘Ride With Me’ sculptural installation that spans eight feet wide and is comprised of 40 hand-formed basketballs injected with cement. Check out more works in the slideshow above and visit Hidari Zingaro’s website for further details. “The World is Filled” is on view until October 29.
