Jean Jullien to Launch First Solo Show in San Francisco
Entitled “Le Jardin Bleu.”

Following his “ONAJI UMI” exhibition in Tokyo, Jean Jullien continues to create vivid works touching upon summertime beach scenes. The celebrated French artist will launch his first-ever solo show in San Francisco at Chandra Gallery. Entitled “Le Jardin Bleu” (The Blue Garden in French), the presentation will spotlight a total of 25 acrylic paintings that reference the Brittany region in France. In addition, life-sized sculptures, as well as an immersive installation, will be on view at the space.
“I am focusing on minimal storytelling,” Jullien said to the gallery in regards to the new direction of his pieces. “Hopefully the works give a sense of calm I feel when I’m painting. I’m happiest in summer. Days are slow, with walks to the beach, long lunches in the garden, drawing in the sun, good wine.”
“Le Jardin Bleu” will be open to the public on July 28 until August 30. Visit Chandran Gallery’s official website to learn more. For more art shows, check out teamLab’s immersive new exhibition in Japan’s massive Mifuneyama Rakuen park.
