Monumental Miami Exhibition Explores Why Football Is "The World’s Game"

Celebrating the 2018 FIFA World Cup with works by over 40 artists.

To celebrate the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia, the Pérez Art Museum Miami in Florida launched a momentous exhibition entitled “The World’s Game: Fútbol and Contemporary Art.”

The group show features works by over 40 artists who specialize in various mediums such as painting, sculpture, photography, and video. Kehinde Wiley, Lyle Ashton Harris, Gustavo Artigas, Roberto Guerrero, Quisqueya Henriquez, Wendy White, Hank Willis Thomas, Stephen Dean, Jaime Lauriano, and Ronny Quevedo are just a few on the list of participating artists. Conclusively, the show pays homage to the “human experience through a sport that embodies one of the few common languages worldwide,” expressed the museum in a statement.
