International Artists Paint on Solar Panels to Promote Sustainability

Spotlighting works by Felipe Pantone, AKTE ONE, Carolina Amaya, and more.

The Solar Panel Art Series joined forces with Paddle8 on an online benefit auction. The collaborative duo commissioned works by globally-acclaimed visual artists such as Felipe Pantone. AKTE ONE, Carolina Amaya, Dave the Chimp, Henok Getachew, Choi Jin-Youn, Ron Miller, and more. One of the highlights of the sale is Pantone’s Subtractive Variability Solar artwork made using UV ink. All of the works in the auction were made using repurposed solar panels to promote a sustainable lifestyle as well as raise funds to benefit Olafur Eliasson’s Little Sun Foundation that provides “clear, safe and sustainable light to school children and their teachers in Rwanda.”

View the solar panel artworks in the slideshow above and head over to Paddle8’s official website to learn more about the benefit auction. For more artworks on sale, take a look at Gagosian’s first-ever Online Viewing Room.
