Famed Photographer Keiichi Nitta to Debut "Portrait" Exhibit

A showcase of Nitta’s signature “raw” snapshot style.

Ploom Shop Tokyo’s underground gallery space, Basement Ginza, will host an exhibition of work from celebrated Japanese photographer Keiichi Nitta. Nitta grew his skill as an assistant for Terry Richardson from 2000-2006, bringing the techniques he learned under Richardson back to his native Japan. There, Nitta grew to become a highly sought-after photographer, with his signature spontaneous photos showcased in publications ranging from POPEYE to Vogue, with plenty of advertisement and celebrity work in between. “Portrait” will center around “style-free people,” best described as unique individuals who shy away from the status quo.

Head to Keiichi Nitta’s homepage for more information on his work and look for the exhibition to launch on June 30.

For more art, we recently went inside Takashi Murakami and Virgil Abloh’s “TECHNICOLOR 2” exhibition.
