Andy Warhol's Lesser-Known Works to Display at New Whitney Show

“Warhol before he became Warhol.”

The Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City is planning to showcase a selection of rare archival pieces from the late pop art maven, Andy Warhol. Entitled “Andy Warhol: From A to Be and Back Again,” a total of 200 artworks will be displayed on three floors. From Warhol’s ubiquitous Coca-Cola silkscreens produced in the 1960s to his never-before-seen sculpture of transparent perspex boxes filled with vivid mylar film in 1970, the pieces span from the most popular to experimental works he’s never shown before, as per Artnet. “You’ll see Warhol before he became Warhol—when he was Andy Warhola,” said Whitney senior curator Donna De Salvo to the publication.

View select works above and expect “Andy Warhol: From A to Be and Back Again” to launch on November 12 through March 31, 2019. Following the Whitney residency, the show will head over to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the Art Institute of Chicago.
