VHILS Creates New Chiseled Portraits for Paris Solo Exhibits

Two concurrent shows filled with sculptures, installations, and more.

VHILS recently launched two concurrent exhibitions in Paris, France. The distinguished Portuguese artist took over six rooms at the 104 Cent Quatre museum for his first monographic show entitled “Urban Fragments,” putting on a grand display of stacked 6-foot-tall billboards, a large-scale installation made of styrofoam portraying an unknown cityscape, as well as an array of chiseled portraits on vintage inlay doors. As for the “Dècombres” exhibit at Magda Danysz Gallery, the artist presented his signature carvings in plaster walls, oxidized metal collage works, and concrete sculptures.

Both shows are currently open to the public until July 29. View the photos above and then head over to VHILS’ official website to learn more. For more art, check out our new Takashi Murakami short film entitled Is This the Dream?
