Virgil Abloh's Art Will Be Displayed at Frieze New York

In Takashi Murakami’s booth.

As Frieze prepares to host its New York art fair this week, Takashi Murakami has revealed that Virgil Abloh artworks will be displayed in his booth. Announcing the news on Instagram, Murakami posted pictures of one of the all-black paintings that made up part of Abloh’s “PAY PER VIEW” exhibition in Tokyo earlier this year.

The Abloh work will be displayed in Murakami’s Kaikai Kiki Gallery booth at Frieze, which officially opens its doors on May 3, with the Japanese artist stating that this “may be the first time” a Virgil Abloh painting has been shown at an art fair. Take a first look at Murakami’s booth above.

For more Frieze news, David Zwirner is set to sell rare Raymond Pettibon prints during the fair.
