New Stanley Kubrick Photography Exhibit Coming to New York City

The humble years of a young legend in the Bronx.

Back when acclaimed director Stanley Kubrick was just 17 and living in the Bronx, he worked as a photographer for a popular New York-based pictorial magazine called Look. The Look archive can now be found at the Museum of the City of New York, where an exhibition dedicated to his photos will open on May 3.

Titled “Through a Different Lens: Stanley Kubrick Photographs,” the exhibition showcases work from Kubrick before he became Kubrick. They feature people acting naturally, such as lovers on a park bench, celebrities in their homes, pampered dogs amongst the cityscape, and more. Some photographs could even be confused with movie stills due to the arrangement of the scenery.

Check out some of the photos in the gallery above and look for the exhibit to open today, May 3.

In related news, we take a look at the must-see films and shows dropping in May.
