Artist Paul Gagner Copes with Death in Latest Arsham/Fieg Gallery Show

Entitled “In Memoriam: Howard Moseley.”

Daniel Arsham and Ronnie Fieg‘s collaborative Arsham/Fieg Gallery just launched a new show focusing on the works of the Brooklyn-based artist, Paul Gagner. Entitled “In Memoriam: Howard Moseley,” the forthcoming exhibition will display miniature paintings as well as a coffin sculpture in homage to the artist’s ubiquitous character, Dr. Moseley. According to the gallery, the inspiration behind the subject stems from a Gagner’s fascination of self-help books when he was a teenager.

“Like most artists, I grapple with feelings of doubt—doubting my creative abilities, doubting the intentions of others, and doubting the art world itself. Howard is a manifestation of those tensions, the personification of my inner critic,” said Gagner. “He is the voice that shares too much personal information and, also, the source of bad ideas.”
