A Look Inside Takashi Murakami's Monumental "HEADS⟷HEADS" Exhibit

Three floors filled with never-before-seen paintings at Galerie Perrotin NYC.

Takashi Murakami recently launched a monumental new exhibition at New York City’s Galerie Perrotin entitled, “HEADS⟷HEADS.” The extensive presentation is filled with never-before-seen paintings inspired by the work of late iconic artist, Francis Bacon. One of the notable pieces is a sprawling 33-foot-long painting to commemorate one of the most influential Japanese painters of the Edo period, Soga Shohaku. Accompanying the paintings is a space dedicated to showcasing Murakami’s creative process spanning concept drawings, illustrations, and blueprints.

View photos of the exhibition’s VIP preview above and head over to Galerie Perrotin’s official website to view upcoming shows. Celebrated artists KAWS, JR, Daniel Arsham, and Joshua Vides make appearances in the slideshow as well. “HEADS⟷HEADS” is currently open to the public up until June 17.

Not long ago, Murakami and Japanese artist Cherry Fukuoka teamed up with Off-White™ for special edition tote bags.
