New Exhibition Focuses on KAWS-Style Customizations
Based on bootlegs of his 16-inch dissected figure.

A new exhibition from toys collector Strangecat Toys is set to see a host of artists put their take on a reproduction of the iconic 16-inch tall KAWS dissected figure. The show — titled “Misappropriated Icon” — will feature work from 13 different customizers and artists, with each one using a bootleg KAWS figure as their canvas.
Only some work from the exhibition has been previewed, including a “Darth Kaul” figurine from FER MG and a new statue from Mexican artist Shiffa. “Misappropriated Icon” is set to open at Redefine Gallery in Orlando on March 15, and will be open until March 22.
In other arts news, American artist Jeff Koons has spoken about his new exhibition and his love of Lil Uzi Vert.
