Hebru Brantley Launches Limited Edition Print for International Women's Day

Proceeds to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Chicago-born artist Hebru Brantley teamed up with eBay to release a limited edition print for International Women’s Day. Titled Darker Than The Color Of My True Love’s Hair (24” x 33”), the artwork is an homage to the memory of his sister and mother. Set against a bright blue background, the artwork features a collage on the subject’s headscarf that is swathed in a vibrant palette. Moreover, a 1970’s comic interpretation of the female superhero Storm is observed on the collage alongside motifs of Picasso’s Les Demoiselles d’Avignon.

The print is an edition of 230 which will be available on eBay’s official website today at 12 p.m. EST. The sale will conclude on March 18 with 70% of the proceeds to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

This past January, we sat down with Hebru Brantley to discuss his upbringing, how street art’s changed, and his first-ever show in Asia.
