KAWS Teases Humongous 'SMALL LIE' Companion Sculpture in Qatar

To be installed at the Hamad International Airport.

KAWS recently posted Instagram photos of his new SMALL LIE Companion sculpture to be installed at the Hamad International Airport in Qatar.

Made in collaboration with Qatar Museums, the large-scale figure is approximately 30-feet-tall and constructed out of African hardwood; the same size and material to create his previous SMALL LIE figure at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park in England back in 2016. The only difference between the two sculptures is their bodies. The Qatar version boasts a stylized, Pinocchio-esque frame while the Yorkshire iteration is conceived in a more simpler form.

KAWS and Qatar Museums are still hard at work in installing the piece at the Hamad International Airport. Nevertheless, stay tuned for updates on the sculpture.

In case you missed it, Canadian rapper Madchild has teamed up with Heritage Auctions to sell his personal collection of rare KAWS Companions, Supreme items, and more this March 1-2 in New York City.
