Tomoo Gokita to Curate New SHOP Taka Ishii Gallery

While unveiling a series of new works.

Taka Ishii Gallery is set to open its new SHOP concept store in Hong Kong. The experimental space will purvey a diverse range of artworks by the gallery’s branded artists alongside miscellaneous items. Rotating the works in every three months, the first presentation will be spearheaded by seminal Japanese artist Tomoo Gokita.

Gokita also created a series of new works using acrylic gouache on plywood and paper over publicity imagery, as per Juxtapoz. Moreover, rare sculptural works will also be on display alongside apparel items such as collaborative jackets and tees.

Following Gokita’s presentation, the SHOP’s program will follow with lighting designer Michael Anastassiades in Spring 2019, and photographer Nobuyoshi Araki in Summer 2019. Head over to Taka Ishii Gallery’s website to learn more about the concept store.

Elsewhere in art, British artist-duo Kai and Sunny just opened a new solo exhibition at Stolenspace Gallery.
