Takashi Murakami just launched a massive show at Perrotin Gallery’s Shanghai output. Entitled “Takashi Murakami in Wonderland,” the leading Japanese artist displays a range of large-scale artworks including multiple-paneled canvas paintings alongside a 250-centimeter sculpture of his signature Flowers motif. The highlight of the show is a series of Mr. DOB works that portray the character’s evolution from the past 20 years. Collectively, this marks Murakami’s largest exhibit in Asia to date.
