KAWS Teases New 'CLEAN SLATE' Companion Figure

Add another ‘XX’ to your collection.

This past Monday, KAWS went on Instagram to tease a new Companion figure that is essentially a smaller-scaled version of his large-scale CLEAN SLATE sculpture currently on display at Phillips’ Plaza in New York City. Although an official release is currently in speculation, the Brooklyn-based artist shared another post this Tuesday, showcasing the figure and its graphics-adorned packaging during a studio visit with A$AP Ferg and pop expressionist painter, Jay West.

The collectible features a Companion carrying two smaller Companions in KAWS’ signature grey tones. If you’ve seen these figures pop up before — perhaps as early as 2014 — you may have mistaken them as official releases when they are unfortunately fake copies. Stay tuned for updates such as edition size and pricing.

View the teasers below. In case you missed it, KAWS was recently spotlighted in Juxtapoz’s 25th-anniversary issue.
