Watch Tom Sachs's 'Paradox Bullets' Short Film

Contradictory rules to live your life by and the Nike Mars Yard Overshoe.

Following a teaser trailer and its official premiere at the Frieze Art Fair in London, Tom Sachs has now released his full Paradox Bullets short film to the public. The newly released project stars Sachs alongside Ed Ruscha in the leading role and Werner Herzog as the narrator. The original score is by Grey Gersten and the script co-written and directed by Van Neistat.

Paradox Bullets follows the story of a man who loses his keys in the Mojave Desert and has nine bullets to get him home. The film’s concept jumps off from Sachs’s previous film Ten Bullets, which sets rules for working in the studio, and offers seemingly contradictory rules to live by, such as “Do the hard things first,” and its opposite, “Do the easy things first.”

The 23-minute film also gives a look at Sachs’s new Nike collaboration, the Mars Yard Overshoe, which took 11 years to develop. The new silhouette is the Mars Yard sneaker wrapped in a Dyneema bag, which is a high-tech waterproof material designed to keep your feet warm in disagreeable climates. You can roll down the exterior shell to let your feet breath or wear it up like a winter boot.
