Takashi Murakami Makes His Own "I Love It" Halloween Costume

Revealing his love of Kanye West and Lil Pump’s music video.

Ahead of October 31, Takashi Murakami revealed his adoration of Kanye West and Lil Pump‘s “I Love It” music video and his Halloween costume inspired by the outfits that define the visual.

Taking to Instagram, the prolific Japanese artist showed off his take on the beyond-oversized outfits Kanye and Pump wore in their Spike Jonze-produced music video. The exaggerated look is comprised of a smiling flower print button-up, traditional Japanese camo trousers, “Hiropon” necklace and, of course, a pair of YEEZY Slides. It is interesting to note that “Hiropon” is actually the name of Murakami’s lauded sculpture from 2001 that serves as a physical representation of Japanese “Otaku” culture and its distinct representation of female sexuality.

In case you missed it, we caught up with Takashi Murakami at the opening of his Change the Rule! in Hong Kong to discuss his success, health and aging.
