Soulland Is Opening a Surprisingly Affordable Pop-Up Art Store

“Got It For Cheap.”

Danish brand Soulland has announced a pop-up store in its home city of Copenhagen. Titled “Got It For Cheap” the store will run on September 2-3 during Copenhagen Art Week, and will showcase well-known artists alongside a range of their up-and-coming contemporaries. In addition to the broad selection available, every picture for sale will also be an original and will be priced at 300 DKK (approx. $50 USD).

The brand’s creative director, Silas Adler, explained the idea behind the show: “[F]or the past couple of years Soulland has been about pushing boundaries and challenging the status quo. We feel that Got It For Cheap does exactly this by democratising art. The thought of having an unknown artist on display, side-by-side with an established artist under the same premises and sold for the exact same price is extremely interesting.”

The pop-up art store comes on the back of a slew of new releases from the Copenhagen label, with Soulland recently dropping a collaboration with Australia’s Contra as well as its 2017 fall/winter collection.
