A First Look Inside Jerkface's "Donuts" Pop-Up Exhibit in NYC

“Donuts are life.”

“Donuts are life,” expressed NYC-based artist Jerkface. In fact, “Donuts” is the moniker for his brand new pop-up exhibition in lower Manhattan made in partnership with Hong Kong’s Over The Influence Gallery. The eye-catching presentation features a slew of new paintings embellished with a vivid cast of iconic cartoon characters spanning Mickey Mouse, Spongebob Squarepants, and Marvin The Martian.

Why highlight just this one confectionary treat? Well, the artist professed that “the donut from The Simpsons represents so much and no artist has really exemplified that.” Having added: “It’s a great representation of American pop culture.” In regards to his harsh critics, “Having the courage to paint just a donut on a canvas, you don’t know how people are going to react. They’ll probably say ‘Oh, it’s just a donut,’” said Jerkface.

Jerkface will launch a book-signing at the pop-up show on June 18 from 1-3 p.m. EST. Take a look at the exhibit above before its official launch and then find the address below.
