Andy Warhol's First Self-Portrait Is Expected to Sell for Over $7 Million USD

Hitting the Sotheby’s auction on June 28.

Andy Warhol‘s first self-portrait will presumably fetch a cool $7.8 million USD at Sotheby’s. The iconic artist had captured his own image using a strip of photographs inside a photo-booth at a dime store in New York City, as per Sotheby’s senior specialist in contemporary art, James Sevier. Soon afterwards, Warhol began capturing more and more self-portraits which would be one of the most significant aspects of his artwork as a whole. The self-portrait, which depicts the artist wearing a pair of black sunglasses, will hit the renowned art dealer’s auction block in London this coming June 28.

Check out the print above and head over to Sotheby’s official website to learn more.
