“Rei Kawakubo/COMME des GARÇONS: Art of the In-Between” at the MET
Rei Kawakubo needs no introduction in the world of fashion. One of the industry’s most creative icons, the Metropolitan Museum of Art went on to honor the designer by displaying some of her most seminal works as part of the iconic art establishment’s ongoing fashion series. “Rei Kawakubo/COMME des GARÇONS: Art of the In-Between” will have dresses, suits, accessories and more from the brand’s early seasons down to some more recent runway shows.

Anish Kapoor’s “Descension“
If you’re looking for something different in terms of immersive art installations, give Anish Kapoor‘s “Descension” a visit — it’s a giant pool of endlessly spiralling water that was recently unveiled to launch at New York’s annual NYCxDesign festival. The pool measures 26-feet in diameter with a center that allows viewers to see the collapsing water show.
One show daily at 9am to 9pm from May 5 through September 10.

“Eyes Wide Open! 100 Years of Leica photography” exhibition in the Espacio Fundación Telefónica
The “Eyes Wide Open! 100 Years of Leica photography” exhibition is coming to Madrid, Spain, after successful showings in Hamburg, Frankfurt, Berlin, Vienna, and Munich to name a few. The event, which also shares the book’s name, spans works by famous Leica photographers. The city’s Espacio Fundación Telefónica will play host to photographs by René Burri, Thomas Hoepker, Bruce Gilden, Christer Strömholm, Bruce Davidson, F.C. Gundlach, Fred Herzog, William Eggleston and many more.
The show will start May 11 and run until September 10.

James Jean, Claire Colette, Aaron Noble, and More For “LA Intersections” at Fabien Castanier Gallery.
The West Coast’s Fabien Castanier Gallery has just opened its “LA Intersections” show. The event features works from renowned artists such as James Jean, Claire Colette, Aaron Noble and more. According to the gallery, “The exhibition represents a tableau of the L.A. art scene – a unique presentation of today’s cutting edge image-makers. From graffiti to surrealism and abstraction, to sculpture, installation, and works on canvas, “LA Intersections” will be an immersive experience and a cross-section of the Los Angeles cultural landscape.”

GRIND Magazine’s “KICKS MUSEUM” at the Daikanyama T-Site Garden Gallery
GRIND Magazine is bringing the world of sneakers into a more colorful light. This pop-up showcase of sorts dubbed “KICKS MUSEUM” will display a variety of original sneaker models by artists Daisuke Arasaki, Inozuka Keita, Yohei Usami, Lambda Takahashi, Takayuki Tanaka, Masataka Hattori and Ryuta Yamada. There will also be special merchandise and Jason Markk cleaning services.
