Takashi Murakami, Jeff Koons & More Works Fill the New Marciano Art Foundation Gallery Space in LA

Established by Guess Jeans founders, Paul and Maurice Marciano.

A new gallery space filled with a treasure trove of contemporary artwork is set to open in Koreatown / Central Los Angeles. The newfangled establishment, called Marciano Art Foundation, on Wilshire Boulevard was conceptualized by none other than Guess Jeans founders and brothers, Paul and Maurice Marciano. The moguls, alongside architect Kulapat Yantrasast, transformed the former Scottish Rite Masonic Temple into a massive, modern space that boasts 90,000 square-feet, four floors, and over 1,000 pieces in the collection. Works by Takashi Murakami, Jeff Koons, David Hammons, Louise Lawler, Mark Bradford, Paul McCarthy, and more fill the gallery’s white interiors.

The Marciano family is set to open the foundation on May 25 with a solo exhibition by renowned American artist Jim Shaw dubbed “The Wig Museum.” The showcase will be Shaw’s first solo exhibit in L.A. and features an eclectic array of sculptures, drawings, and paintings.

Take a look at the new space ahead of its opening above and find more information over at the Marciano Art Foundation’s official website.
