A Look Inside Art Basel Hong Kong 2017

242 premier galleries from around the world gather for Asia’s leading art fair.

Art Basel Hong Kong 2017 has officially opened its doors to the public. The fifth edition of Asia’s premier art fair is arguably its strongest yet, hosting over 242 participating galleries from 34 countries under one (multi-level) roof at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Visitors have a chance to see and purchase works from big names such as Pablo Picasso, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Andy Warhol, Takashi Murakami, KAWS, Sterling Ruby, Barbara Kruger and Ai Weiwei, among many other heavyweights from the 20th and 21st century. In addition to the “Galleries” section, The fair’s “Insights” section presents artists and projects by galleries based in the Asia/Asia-pacific region; the “Discoveries” section offers a platform for emerging contemporary artists to gain exposure; and the newest addition, “Kabinett” section presents “curated exhibitions in an architecturally delineated space within their booths.”

Take a look at some of the great paintings, sculptures, drawings, installations, photographs, film, video and digital artworks currently at display at Art Basel Hong Kong 2017.
