Gosha Rubchinskiy, Chi Modu, 'HYPEBEAST' Magazine & More Exhibit at Seoul's D Museum

Open through May 28.

Features

Following successful shows on Hermes and Nick Knight, Korea’s contemporary art gallery D Museum is back with “Youth,” gathering a bevy of legendary artists, photographers and musicians from around the world to express the subject of street culture. Works by 28 artists including Dash Snow, Yung LeanScott Campbell and Boiler Room are on display in various forms of media, from video, paintings and portraiture to even poetry.

Notable participants include Chi Modu, living legend in the world of hip hop documentary photography, whose subject roster includes the likes of Tupac, Notorious B.I.G. and Snoop Dogg. In the same section is Gosha Rubchinskiy, whose 2012 photography series “Transfiguration” proves he’s much more than just a designer. Chloe Sevigny’s younger years can be seen in Larry Clark’s 1990s photos of New York kids and Ryan McGinley’s romantic nude portrait series especially grabs attention.

If that isn’t enough reason for Seoul-based folks to visit, “Youth” also features a special interview clip of Vetements’ Demna Gvasalia on his thoughts on youth, as well as over 500 spreads of HYPEBEAST Magazine on display from archival to current issues. The exhibition is open from now through May 28th.
