A Recap of Shepard Fairey's First LA Show in 10 Years

Featuring over 200 works.

Named after the 1981 Black Flag album Damaged, Shepard Fairey’s latest show is the first in his hometown LA in 10 years. The presentation is vastly impressive, bringing over 200 pieces he’s made since 2015 under one roof. Everything from his iconic style screenprints to sculptures and newly up-cycled works can be seen, as well as an old-school style printing press he’s brought specially for the event. Not unlike Fairey, the show explores critical modern day issues within human rights and the environment, and in an effort to to show his support the artist has promised a portion of sales will benefit Black Lives Matter, the American Civil Liberties Union, the Natural Resources Defense Council and Amplifier. For a look at the space, check out the photos above or see it in person at the converted Chinatown warehouse at 1650 Naud Street.
