Ian Strange's Art and Design Processes Is Unveiled in New "Private View" Video

Strange also breaks down the perception of what a home is and is not.

Australian-born, Brooklyn-based artist Ian Strange is a street artist turned installation artist that reconstructs houses and slices negative spaces into them. Strange pulls the innards out of bungalows and terraces then paints the insides in jarring blocks of color.

His work is meant to express, but also allows him the time to explore the emotions people attach to their homes. Strange’s work has garnered the attention of the art world, leading up to a string of solo exhibitions, one of which will be taking place on December 18 in New York. In the visuals above, the artist talks about his practice as a form of “attack” and tackles the perceptions of what the home is and what he believes it is not.
