MoMA Brings World's Most Famous Artworks to Paris

Warhol, Picasso and Rothko are just some of the names who feature.

Fondation Louis Vuitton is the host space for a selection of seminal artworks from the MoMA, showcasing pieces created by everyone from Picasso to Rothko. Called Being Modern: MoMA in Paris, works include “Hope II” by Klimt, “The Studio” by Picasso, de Kooning’s “Women I,” Duchamp’s “Bicycle Wheel,” “No 10” by Rothko, “The Bather” by Cézanne and Andy Warhol’s ubiquitous “Campbell’s Soup Cans,” which is available for view in Paris for the first time.

MoMA director Glenn D. Lowry describes the show as “a chance to scramble what we normally do,” a concept evident in details as small as the order of its exhibits, which — though apparently chronological — are arranged by complimenting pieces.

Being Modern: MoMA in Paris is on show from now until March 5, 2018 at Fondation Louis Vuitton.
