Dover Street Market Hosts New COMME des GARÇONS Installation

Experimental new artwork for the New York location.

COMME des GARÇONS has created a new installation for Dover Street Market New York. Imported from the London outpost, the artwork references the work of artist Paul Thek.

Originally created for October’s Dover Street Market Frieze Open House in London, the installation was displayed alongside offerings from Michele Lamy, Gucci and Avi Gold’s Better™. The multimedia piece takes cues from the Brooklyn-born Paul Thek’s output, who was noted for utilizing unconventional materials in his paintings, like newspaper, and producing sculptures of his own limbs. CDG’s creation features multiple cardboard boxes, painted in a style evoking Thek, layered around a sparse wooden frame.

The sculpture is currently on display in Dover Street Market New York. Dover Street currently offers new goods from both Noah and Gosha Rubchinskiy.
