An NYC Realty Group Is Allowing Local Artists to Create Murals on Its Buildings

The development company looks to promote public art in the community.

Icon Realty Management in New York City recently announced its plan to use several of its properties to promote public art. Working alongside local art galleries, the company will allow a select list of artists to create murals on the walls of some of its landmarks. A partnership with the Dorian Grey Gallery in the East Village makes way for artists Jeremy Penn and Lambros to produce pieces for the group’s Mott street complex. NYC artist Penn is renowned for his mixed media work, while Lambros is famed for his stencil art and graffiti illustrations. Queens native Jerkface is also involved and is slated to do a mural for the 128 Second Avenue building. Terrence Lowenberg, Principal at Icon says that, “As a lifelong New Yorker, art has always been a central part of our City. We are proud to do our part at Icon to continue that tradition. We look forward to doing even more in the future.”
