Educate Yourself on the History of Photography in Just 5 Minutes

From Camera Obscura to the iPhone 6S.

The Cooperative Of Photography (COOPH)‘s video above showcases the lengthy story of photography and condenses it into a neat, cleverly produced video that highlights the art’s stepping stones. The extensive history of photography spans centuries, from its first iteration known as Camera Obscura (which later developed into pinhole cameras) as far back as 400 BC. The evolution through time has thus led to the technology of photography to change from theories and non-recordable mediums that would destruct over time, to an image that is developed onto a piece of paper i.e. a photograph. The video teaches us by examining the various cameras that have been invented and the first ever recorded photograph by Joseph Nicéphore Niépce, to the first ever “selfie” by Robert Cornelius in 1839, and the first instances of negatives, color photos and even “photoshop.” Check out the educational video above and discover the origins of “the ‘gram.”
