John Margaritis Brings Basketball to the Beach & Ocean With His "Hoop Dreams" Live Installation

Ball anyone?

During Art Basel Miami artist John Margaritis showed his latest live installation “Hoop Dreams,” which looked to blend basketball with the beach and ocean. The project consists of a sunken basketball hoop with a chain link net and a collection of images that show the said hoop overcome by the raw and rough nature of the ocean. The live installation creates an unusual juxtaposition as the standing sports equipment breaks up the vast serenity of the beach view. Additionally, the installation was used as a backdrop for the latest OFF-WHITE x VLONE editorial and you can check out Margaritis‘ “Water Box” series that was on display at the VLONE Art Basel Miami pop-up here.
