Experience the Secret Side of Paris Through Google's Curio-cité Series

You no longer need a passport to travel to France’s capital.

Google Art & Culture has introduced its latest major endeavor. While not a gadget worthy of a globally-televised news conference, episode one of Google’s Curio-cité effort hopes to connect the citizens of Earth to one of history’s most revered cities. With the new, interactive Curio-cité project, users will be able to explore the most striking hidden quarters of Paris without even having to physically move. Through this new program, anyone with internet access can explore the historic concert venue Opéra Garnier, hang out in the mayor’s office, learn about Paris’ most renowned street art and more. To enter France’s capital, you can put the passport down and boot up your laptop.

Expect similar digital journeys to emerge in the near future. For now, take a virtual trip to Paris here and watch the project’s introductory video above.
