Meet Legendary Street Artist Banksy

Hoax? You decide.

The ever-elusive English-based street artist, Banksy, may be stepping out from the shroud of secrecy to debut in his first meet-and-greet on January 16. As publicized in the Facebook event, the meeting in the Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York City will be accompanied by a face painting from the man himself.

Even if there is a strong reason to suspect a hoax, namely, the multiple misspellings of the artist’s alias in the event description and a debunking by The Village Voice, the event is already set to be attended by 12K. For those die-hard Banksy fans, even the slightest possibility of meeting the infamous social provocateur may be worth the trip. Or at the very least, bond with fellow ‘Banksies.’
