HMN ALNS Imagines 'Akira' Star Kaneda in Streetwear Favorites

HMN ALNS returns to update the biker-chic look of the classic ‘Akira’ hero.

Known for his reimagining of classic anime characters, here HMN ALNS returns to the fold with some new illustrations highlighting the main protagonist in Akira as he might appear in the modern day. Here commissioned by Highsnobiety, the artist opted to pair Shotaro Kaneda’s existing future-biker aesthetic with its most prominent practitioners today, including Raf Simons, A Bathing Ape, Virgil Abloh’s OFF-WHITE and Pyer Moss. Unlike previous releases, the three looks don’t stray too far from the character’s original style, only helping to ground these fantastic animations.
