Ella & Pitr Complete the World's Largest Mural in Norway

Meet Lilith and Olaf, the newest stars in the Norwegian county of Rogaland.

Norway-bound plane passengers may be able to catch a glimpse of a new landmark on the descent into Stavanger airport, that being the world’s new largest mural by French artists Ella & Pitr in the town of Klepp. Titled Lilith & Olaf, the mural covers the majority of the 21,000 square meters of the roof of the Block Berge Bygg building, and depicts a curled-up woman with a figurine of King Olaf I, who ruled Norway from 995 – 1000 A.D. His birthplace is purportedly an islet in the lake of Frøylandsvatnet, which is only meters from the building itself. The mural will be officially “opened” on September 4, coinciding with the 2015 Nuart festival.
