Charlie James Gallery in Los Angeles is currently showing From The Primitive To The Present, the first solo exhibition of local artist Amir H. Fallah. The inspiration behind the exhibition started a year ago when Fallah began searching through listings of estate sales. He chose one in North Hollywood at random, purchased several items from the family and began photographing them, creating a narrative about the family and building portraits of the members through painting, sculpture and collages. The exhibition offers a fascinating glimpse into a family’s life, as well as the artist’s interpretation of their history. From The Primitive To The Present will be on view at the Charlie James Gallery until April 11.
