The Master Kong Quarterly Launches with Issue 1 Focusing on Hong Kong

Set for its debut, The Master Kong Quarterly (named after the honorific title of Confucius)

Set for its debut, The Master Kong Quarterly (named after the honorific title of Confucius) releases its first body of work with the city of Hong Kong as its backdrop. The image-based publication features the themed work from guest artists and is entirely independent and advertisement free — bringing local art straight to the people in a chance to hear the voice of the current age. In the first issue we see clever themes that play into Hong Kong’s diverse landscape, seen in the juxtaposition of old and new, the bird’s-eye view of the densely packed high-rises, the never-ending construction, East meets West, down to the glorification of what some would consider the real superheroes of the city.

With the teachings of Confucius in mind, The Master Kong Quarterly launches with this quote in mind: “Now the man of perfect virtue, wishing to be established himself, seeks also to establish others; wishing to be enlarged himself, he seeks also to enlarge others.”, and hopes to expand its network of artist across all mediums for future issues to come.
