This year’s National Geographic Traveler photo contest has come to a close and the publication has now revealed its winning entries. Chosen from over 18,000 entries, the winning photos represent a unique cross-section of the world at large and cover topics as diverse as the natural world, cultural events and everyday life. The first place winner is of a supercell storm captured by Marko Korošec while in Julesburg, Colorado. Third place went Marc Henauer and his stunning image of a diver exploring a flooded lakeside in Tragöss, Austria. Following up these two are several merit prize-winning images from around the world.
