Parra once described his work as “fast and freestyle” with the aim to create accessibility to its viewers via a simple yet bold choice in color. Reinterpreting commercial motifs in his own satirical approach, the Amsterdam-based artist continues to build on ’60s pop art inspirations in his forthcoming exhibition “Same Old Song” at HVW8, Los Angeles. Here, we get a preview of three pieces from the show: “Betrayed,” Private Affair,” and “That Red Bell Pepper Life,” all of which are upheld by high saturated colors and formative lines synonymous with his aesthetics. Check out the preview here and stay tuned for more from “Same Old Song,” opening this Saturday June 28.
