Artists Samuel Borkson and Arturo Sandoval III – collectively known as FriendsWithYou – have been working together to spread positive vibes since 2002, culminating in a brand new monograph entitled We Are FriendsWithYou. Published by Rizzoli, the tome spans the duo’s 12-year journey and features contributions from the likes of Pharrell Williams, spiritual guru Alejandro Jodorowsky, and Dallas Contemporary museum director Peter Doroshenko. In celebration of the book’s release, FriendsWithYou has teamed up with MOCA to launch the publication in style as the Los Angeles museum’s Grand Avenue location will be home to a signing, bounce house installation, live sound environment performance by Money Mark, live airbrush pieces created on site by artist Malcolm Stuart, and the debut of a FriendsWithYou/Print All Over Me capsule collection on May 31 from 3-6 p.m. PDT.
Those who can’t make it out to the release celebration can find the comprehensive 240-page retrospective now online.
