Illustrious American artist Jeff Koons is prepping to open his major retrospective show at New York’s Whitney Museum next month. During his time in the city, he will also be installing the Split-Rocker, a monumental flower sculpture at Rockefeller Center on June 25. The giant cartoonish installation will go up two days before the show opens. Weighing 150 tons and spanning 37 feet high, Split-Rocker is made up of two halves: one inspired by a toy pony from one of Mr. Koons’ son, the other based on a toy dinosaur. Together, they form the head of a giant rocker and will be covered with live flowers. If you’re in New York, make sure you check out the Split-Rocker for yourself.
