Bite Me Magazine Issue 1

From the minds of Katrina Tran and Jason Schlabach comes the newest Hong Kong-based imprint Bite Me

From the minds of Katrina Tran and Jason Schlabach comes the newest Hong Kong-based imprint Bite Me – “an independently published art magazine that has a not-so-serious, cheeky perspective of cultural phenomena.” For its inaugural May issue – The Butt Issue – its NSFW pages explore how the butt has shaped culture, art, fashion and social commentary with a long list of writers, photographers and illustrators from around the globe. In a recent interview with Stack Magazines, Tran and Schlabach talked about their brainchild stating, “We really wanted to skewer the build up of ego that we’ve seen in fashion media, amateur and professional, over the last few years. The idea was to strip away some of the identity fixation that we took issue with and make it about the work. And butts are a perfect subject matter for that.” Bite Me will be available at select newsstands around the world over the next few weeks.
