The momentum from KAWS‘ success in the latter half of the 2013 – dotted by an appearance on the cover of Paper and a show at Mary Boone Gallery – has taken the artist beyond domestic bounds. The New York-based artist will now showcase his work in Málaga, Spain, opening the “Final Days” exhibition at the Centro De Arte Contemporáneo De Málaga (CAC de Málaga) – his first solo museum show outside of the U.S. The exhibition will highlight KAWS’ large wooden “Companion” figures, some as large as 19 feet, each articulated to convey a range of human emotions.
