National Geographic‘s most recent photo contest has come to a close with the grand prizes given to three winners for their submissions to three different categories: people, places and nature. Winning photos were chosen from over 9,200 entries that came from over 150 countries around the globe. The contest had no set limits for participants, and submissions were sent in by all types of people from amateur photo enthusiasts to professional photographers. The panel of expert judges included National Geographic‘s digital manager and two of its top photographers. The three winners will each be receiving $10,000 as well as a trip to National Geographic‘s Photography Seminar at the headquarters in Washington, D.C. in January 2015.
