There’s nothing worse than a good meal being interrupted. Whether it’s a bad case of park bees, lack of weather protection, or even a suspicious incident in a restaurant, an incomplete meal seems wastefully wrong. Art couple Davide Luciano and Claudia Ficca, a fine art photographer and food stylist respectively, teamed up to create uncomfortable settings for otherwise elaborate dining tables with the “Meals Interrupted” photo series. Photos of a post food-fight cafeteria, a freshly ‘caught’ spread being cut short, and a course that takes ‘well-done’ too literally all serve to evoke a sense of irrevocable disaster in the viewer. The atmospheres are rife with black humor, which we’ve come to expect from Luciano and Ficca’s expressive works. Enjoy “Meals Interrupted” above.
