Like most people in this generation, Laurent Segretier grew up with a vision of success vastly different than that of the generation before. It was experienced largely in front of television screens and computers, shaped by definitive marketing, and fueled by surreal foreign cartoons. All of these ideas are fused together in Segretier’s new photography exhibition: “Random Access.” With sneakers, specifically Air Jordans, at the focal point of the show, the artist seeks to recreate images and dreams that were ingrained into his memory at an early age. Though the exhibition is not until mid 2014, our artistic audience might enjoy the images above as a consolation.
