Richard Phillips Erects a 40-Foot Playboy Logo in Marfa Texas Desert

American artist Richard Phillips — best known for his strikingly vivid paintings and lifelike portraits – has recently begun to explore various realms of art from film-making and photography to forms of sculpturing. It has been confirmed his latest environmental installation mysteriously surfaced out in the desert of Marfa, Texas. Along with the help of Playboy’s newest creative team members, Neville Wakefield and Landis Smithers, Phillips erected a nearly 40-foot-tall Playboy bunny logo with neon lights as an engaging way to revive the men’s magazine’s brand image. The iconic logo is accompanied by an all-black 1972 Dodge Charger balanced atop a leaning cement display. The above video highlights Phillips structure, but most importantly, it features Playboy‘s most recent crowned Playmate of the Year, Raquel Pomplun.
